While the players have gone off to enjoy the warm sands or distant lands, Virginie Rossetti, the clubโs communications manager, remains vigilant in Nice and talks to us about this new magazine as well as other ongoing projects at OGC Nice.
Nice Premium: So Virginie, itโs not vacation time for everyone at OGC Nice?
Virginie Rossetti: It’s funny you should mention that… at the end of the match against Caen, when we left Le Ray, everyone we met on the way wished us a good holiday!! Yet, while the players are indeed on vacation after the last game, a new job begins for us in communicationsโฆ managing the entire off-season, which starts with promoting the subscription campaign (posters in all cities and villages of the Alpes Maritimes, mailings to businesses and individuals, spaces at all trade shows and congresses aimed at business committees…), the media frenzy of the transfer window with its myriad of rumors, in fact, at this time we are working as much on current affairs as on the whole strategy to be established for the coming season.
Nice Premium: What will we discover in issue number 2 of the ogcnice.event magazine?
Virginie Rossetti: Among all the surprises, a completely offbeat portrait of Cyril Rool, shareholders responding to forum members, a look back at the legendary match against Strasbourg, a feature on the Ultras… and the icing on the cake, the DVD of Konio that retraces almost two hours of the season with the talent we know him for!!! In short, only juicy stuff… and here I am speaking as a fan!
Nice Premium: We wonโt find any info on transfers though rumors are currently rife, particularly concerning Lloris, Balmont, or Konรฉ. How is this managed on a daily basis at the club?
Virginie Rossetti: It is managed like each off-seasonโฆ by distancing ourselves from all that is said and heard here and there, trying to extinguish as many false rumors as possible because the truth of one day is not the truth of the next in terms of transfers. Our job is to announce only what is official and as far as Konรฉ, Balmont, and even Lloris are concerned, I assure you that nothing is decided.
Nice Premium: Vacations are also used to prepare for the new season. Any projects in preview for the readers of Nice Premium?
Virginie Rossetti: Returning to OGC Nice EVENT that we tested last January, it’s a great joy to announce that we are planning its long-term implementation, a subscription to the 3 issues planned for next season will indeed soon be offered to supporters, as well as OGC Nice TV on the web which will be greatly expanded so that in the medium term we are ready to go on air.
The concept of the match program will be completely revamped both in terms of content and distribution throughout the city on match eves.
Furthermore, we are also working on various partnerships to facilitate supporters’ lives especially in terms of access to the stadium…
In short, we are keeping our nose to the grindstone as usualโฆ and what reassures and delights me, during last month’s meeting of communications managers from Ligue 1 clubs, is realizing that many clubs still had not implemented certain services (including OGC Nice TV, online ticketing, online shop) and communication supports (ogc nice.mag, ogc nice event, newsletters…). These so-called โbig clubsโ that have a very rich human roster!!!
Nice Premium: Finally, what will the communications manager do during her (short) summer vacation?
Virginie Rossetti: A week in June in Corsica with friends as every yearโฆ
