The Colombian rider from Team Sky outpaced Alberto Contador by a mere 2 seconds this Sunday in the final stage to win the 75th edition of the Paris-Nice cycling race.
It should be noted that Sergio Henao won Paris-Nice without winning a single stage.
Traditionally, the final stage of Paris-Nice begins and ends in the city. Over the 115 kilometers of this last stage, the riders faced the Côte de Levens (second category), Côte de Châteauneuf (second category), Col de Calaïson (second category), Côte de Peille (first category), and finally the famous Col d’Eze (first category).
Alberto Contador was the winner of Paris-Nice with 5 km to go, but he was beaten by two seconds. He crossed the finish line in Nice in 2nd position, not enough to win this 75th Paris-Nice which goes to Sergio Henao.
