Founded in 1856, the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra, with its 100 musicians, holds a prominent place in the international musical world, having had the great privilege of being conducted by the greatest maestros.

The orchestra has been invited to numerous festivals: Aix-en-Provence, Ankara, Athens, Bad Kissingen, Bonn, Dresden, Dublin, Leipzig, Lisbon, Lyon, Montreux, Orange, Paris, Prague, Rheingau, Strasbourg, Tunis, Vienna, and also undertakes various tours abroad (Austria, Germany, Belgium, Korea, Spain, United States, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, Switzerland).

Since the autumn of 2005, the reopening of the Salle Garnier of the Monte-Carlo Opera has allowed the Philharmonic Orchestra to give chamber music concerts in a prestigious setting, under the direction of prominent conductors, featuring Baroque and Viennese classical repertoires.

In parallel with the opening concert at 9 PM in the Athena Auditorium, virtuoso violinist Laurent Korcia will perform film music: “Cinema Paradiso, Modern Times, Mission Impossible…”
