In partnership with the organization “Les Ouvreurs” and the event “Polar à Drap”, the Mercury Cinema has rescheduled Guillaume Nicloux’s film “Holiday”, decentralizing one of its screenings to 6:30 PM on Saturday, February 5, 2011.

In continuity, Mike Leigh’s “Another Year” finally arrives at the Mercury Cinema, with a reputation established at Cannes where many critics wished to award it the Palme d’Or. The cast is exceptional with actors who are not well-known but all come from the particularly demanding and challenging Shakespearean theater, including Jim Broadbent, Lesley Manville, Ruth Sheen, Oliver Maltman…
Finally, “Even the Rain” by Iciar Bollain is a film that has toured Festivals, from the Valladolid Meetings to Toronto. This beautiful film with Gael Garcia Bernal and Luis Tosar has been chosen by Spain to represent the country at the Oscars as Best Foreign Film. It’s our PICK OF THE WEEK.

In terms of attendance, “Of Gods and Men” has moved back ahead of its “rival”, “The Names of Love”, with these two films surpassing “Potiche”, “Little White Lies”, “A Cat in Paris”, and “Oldboy” thanks to the Cinémas Sans Frontières debate. Following are “Jean-Michel Basquiat: The Radiant Child”, “The Princess of Montpensier”, “Megamind”, and “The Last Station”, “Four Lions”, “The Human Resources Manager”, and “Harry Brown”, “Women Are Heroes”, “Keep Moving Forward”, “Beautiful Lies” and “Biutiful”.
