From May 29 to June 8, 2013, the Louis Carlรฉsimo association, in partnership with the Prince Albert II Carabiniers of Monaco, is organizing a major marathon: Monaco-Paris, “1000 kilometers for 1000 children.” Jean-Cristophe Agosta, carabinier of the Prince and an accomplished marathon runner, will be the sole runner for this race.
Prince Albert II of Monaco will personally kick off the race in Monaco and plant a tree: the Ginkgo Biloba, a symbol of life, in the gardens of the principality.
Covering about a hundred kilometers per day under the banner of the Louis Carlรฉsimo association, Jean-Christophe Agosta will complete this sporting feat in 11 stages (Monaco, Figaniรจres, Meyrargues, Violรจs, Chabeuil, Saint-Andรฉol-le-Chรขteau, Saint-Maurice-les-Chateauneuf, Gannay-sur-Loire, Donzy, Prรฉfontaines, Evry, and Paris).
Each sponsored kilometer will help raise funds and therefore fulfill the dreams of sick children, whom the association has been supporting for over 30 years.
The runner will arrive at Place Vendรดme on Saturday, June 8, around 3 p.m. The final stage will be divided into four sections: starting from the town hall square in Paray-Vieille-Poste around 9 a.m., a stop at Athis-Mons then at Crรฉteil around 11 a.m., where a Ginkgo Biloba will be planted at the departmental park, and where the carabinier will set off again at noon.
From Crรฉteil to Paris, Jean-Christophe Agosta will be followed by runners registered for the race, whose entry ticket will be represented by purchasing the event t-shirt. (Registration with athletics federations and on-site).
Meanwhile, from 2 p.m., Place Vendรดme, numerous activities (clowns, dancers, etc.) will be offered to the public. Sick children and their families will be present to cheer on Jean-Christophe Agosta.
