The Water Authority Eau d’Azur, established in June 2013, successively took over the water services of the municipalities of Beaulieu, Cap d’Ail, Eze, and Villefranche-sur-Mer in September 2014 and those of 28 municipalities in the Middle and Upper Country on January 1, 2015.
On February 4, 2015, at midnight, it also took over the water service of the city of Nice, with more than 150 new employees transferred from Veolia Water.
This transition comes at the expiration of a delegation contract that had been granted in Nice to the Compagnie Gรฉnรฉrale des Eaux in 1878 (now Veolia) and allows for the construction of a coherent water service on the scale of the Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolis.
The announced strategy towards “in-house” development by Christian Estrosi adds another stone to its construction. And, as we well know, drinking does not always quench thirst… the thirst of the Metropolis President is certainly not satisfied!
From the highlands to the coast, the exceptionally high-quality water is now identified by the trademarked brand Eau d’Azur. And when will there be a new brand of mineral water?
Is the somewhat self-sufficient model that Christian Estrosi aims for approaching?
It sometimes makes one smile, but what if he were the one who was right…
