Nice Municipal Elections 2014: Philippe Vardon Begins His Final Sprint

Latest News

This Monday, Philippe Vardon organized a large public meeting at the Acropolis Palace. It was an opportunity for him to kick off the final stretch before Sunday’s vote.

“I’ve decided to throw myself into the fight.” Philippe Vardon has not forgotten his motivation. In front of his fellow candidates and a few supporters, he wanted to convince them, one last time, to vote for him by recalling some of his commitments, taking advantage of current events to make his voice heard โ€” his own.

According to Philippe Vardon, “too much has been said about the tramway and the real issues lie elsewhere.” His deep love for Nice is evident, declaring himself rooted: “Nice is dying.” He doesn’t want to lose this Niรงoise spirit: “I don’t want the kebab to replace the socca.”

After publishing his book last week, he recalled some elements from it, as he opposes the Islamization in Nice. He took the opportunity to launch a few jabs at Christian Estrosi, as well as at all his opponents. The identitarian candidate referenced an AFP article that mentioned Rue de Suisse as a Muslim district. For him, Nice is becoming Marseille, and might eventually become Algiers or Tunis.

Philippe Vardon prefers to speak of anticipation rather than exaggeration. Before his voluntary and energetic speech, some of his fellow candidates had already spoken. This includes Benoรฎt Loeuillet, the secretary-general of Nissa Rebela who stated, “We are the true people,” and Thierry Venem, an ex-FN candidate who doesn’t want “to let the heritage disappear.”

Finally, the young Grรฉgoire de Linarรจs, federal advisor of Identitarian Generation and member of “Anti-Scum Generation,” said, “Some will call us reckless, I would call us passionate.”

The outcome of this campaign will be revealed on the evening of March 23…
