Linda Serravalle, Claude Tordo, and Franck Véran were the first three winners of the territorial finals of the Niçoise cuisine competition “Chef for a Day” organized by the City of Nice and orchestrated, like a chef, by Franck Viano and his team. But the selection continues…
Because there are still three more events for six finals, which will reveal the names of the last candidates who will gather next September for the second edition of the grand final “Chef for a Day.” The next final, where the dish will be trouchia, concerns territories 4 and 5 and will take place at the Koczur Ferry stadium at 2:30 PM during the “Nice Nord en fête” event, on June 6th. Then, it will be the turn of Ariane (Jardin Lecuyer) to host three territorial finals with Niçoise salad and pissaladière in the spotlight, on Friday, June 12th at 4 PM. Finally, the last final, for territory 6, will be held in the city center, at Place Sasserno, on Saturday, June 20th at 2:30 PM around pan bagnat.
A competition that has enjoyed great success at each of its finals, from the heart of the old town to the gardens of Cimiez and which always comprises a top-notch jury (chefs, cooking instructors from the Paul Augier hotel school, culinary authors, Niçoise associations…): “All jury members were delighted to participate in the various finals and to engage with the candidates. It is also a form of transmission and a way to connect professionals and amateurs around their shared passion: Niçoise cuisine,” explains Franck Viano.
