The far right proposes solutions to open up La Trinité and the Paillon Valley.

The elected representatives of the National Rally and the Popular Right are proposing solutions to help La Trinité and the Paillon Valley in terms of transport.

Virginie Escalier (municipal councilor of La Trinité), Philippe Carlin (municipal councilor of La Trinité), and Philippe Vardon (metropolitan councilor and regional councilor) have decided to organize a press conference in front of La Trinité station to express their dissatisfaction with the recent decisions made by the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis. The representatives of the Popular Right and the National Rally accuse the metropolis of not sufficiently aiding the Paillon Valley and La Trinité.

Ladislas Polski, vice-president of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, is particularly targeted by the representatives of the right. “He abandons the people of La Trinité and is throwing in the towel,” explains Virginie Escalier. “His submission to the mayor of Nice is evident, and we’ve been misled for 20 years.” Transport issues are thus causing major problems for the residents. Philippe Vardon summarizes the current situation: “You only need to observe the congestion on the access road to see the problem. It’s a nightmare. An immediate solution is needed.”

Solutions proposed by elected representatives

The representatives of the right have considered several ideas to address this issue. The establishment of regular train services is among these options. “We have trains and stations. We want more trains between Nice and the Paillon Valley,” explains Philippe Vardon. “It’s possible now, especially since trains are a clean mode of transport.” The far-right representatives regret the abandonment of certain stations, such as that of La Trinité, which has become just a halt.

The rehabilitation of these lines and the implementation of more trains would help reduce road traffic. But, like her colleagues, Virginie Escalier feels excluded by the current elected officials: “The East of Nice is not considered in the metropolis’s plans, but we are not second-class Azuréens!” It remains to be seen how the elected officials will react to these proposals. A project to extend the tramway towards La Trinité had been mentioned in recent years, but it has not yet been realized.
