Starting this Monday, August 4, and until August 7, the Thรฉรขtre de Verdure hosts the Nice Tribute Festival. Each evening, a band pays tribute to a musical legend, with ABBA, Supertramp, Pink Floyd, and Queen on the agenda.

Nice sets the tone for the beginning of August. From August 4 to 7, 2025, the Thรฉรขtre de Verdure becomes the theater of nostalgia. Four evenings, four concerts in tribute to giants of music. Each night, starting at 8:30 PM, a tribute band takes a journey back in time and revisits a repertoire that has impacted many generations.

The Nice Tribute Festival is set up just a stone’s throw from the sea, in the heart of Albert I Garden. The event caters to a broad audience, from lovers of progressive rock, Swedish pop, to rock anthems to sing along with. The setting is open-air, right next to the Promenade des Anglais.

The price is โ‚ฌ25 per evening, with a 4-night pass at โ‚ฌ60. Admission is free for children under 10. The radio station Poptastic, specializing in sounds from the ’70s to ’90s, is a festival partner.

Four Legendary Bands Celebrated Through Music

The festival kicks off this Monday, August 4, with Abba Dream, an Italian band that revives the hits of the famous Swedish quartet. Costumes, choreographies, and reimagined hits. The evening will highlight songs that got the whole of Europe dancing: โ€œDancing Queen,โ€ โ€œMamma Mia,โ€ โ€œGimme! Gimme! Gimme!โ€

On Tuesday, August 5, itโ€™s Tramp Experience, a French group active since 2011. These five musicians cover songs created between 1974 and 1982 by Supertramp, a period marked by titles such as โ€œThe Logical Song,โ€ โ€œDreamer,โ€ and โ€œGoodbye Stranger.โ€ The band has received the support of Roger Hodgson, a founding member of Supertramp.

Wednesday, August 6, Pink Floyd History offers an immersion into five decades of music. The show revisits the trajectory of the British band, from the early psychedelic phase to more recent compositions. Video projections and light shows will accompany the live performances. A staged homage aiming to recreate the original concert atmosphere of Pink Floyd.

The festival concludes on Thursday, August 7, with Queen Symphonya, a project led by the Italian group Vipers Queen, accompanied by a symphony orchestra under the direction of Jean-Louis Dedieu. Queenโ€™s repertoire is reimagined with orchestral arrangements. On the program: โ€œBohemian Rhapsody,โ€ โ€œSomebody to Love,โ€ โ€œWe Will Rock You,โ€ and other songs that have become intergenerational anthems.

The concept of “tribute bands” has gained momentum in recent years. Itโ€™s not about imitation, but about transmission. These groups perform the songs of major artists to introduce or reintroduce them live. Some have been touring Europe for over ten years, while others have even received approval from the original musicians. In Nice, the Thรฉรขtre de Verdure is no stranger to such events. The venue, located in the heart of the city center, regularly hosts concerts, festivals, and open-air performances. It perfectly fits the laid-back atmosphere of the Nice Tribute Festival.

Organizers are betting on a simple formula: one band per night, no overload, but ample time to become immersed in a musical universe. A large audience is expected, including locals, tourists, and curious passersby. Reservations here.
