The inauguration of 27 Delvalle*, a place with a dual identity dedicated to science and medicine with the support of new information and communication technologies, represents a cornerstone of the Citรฉ de la Santรฉ, which is already and even more so will be the counterpart to the east of Nice, in contrast to the OIN Eco-vallรฉe in the west.
The pillars, each complementing the other, form the future Nice that will integrate the globally renowned city whose attractiveness and economic engine lie in tourism.
All studies converge: there will be 20 million people over the age of 60 in the country by 2030, and over 24 million by 2060. One of the missions of 27 Delvalle is precisely to allow seniors to remain autonomous and active for as long as possible and to play their role in society.
Today, the technological revolution leads to the medical revolution, and Delvalle aims to be a laboratory where the future will take shape.
This “container” will be multifunctional (Living Lab): from the model apartment (Fab Lab) that demonstrates how digital products, services, and solutions operate to promote well-being, to the co-working space for start-ups (five are present), consultants, users, associations, etc.
The building (800 mยฒ) will also house the headquarters of France Silver Eco, whose mission is to reference and label innovative health solutions before their industrial development: it is estimated that 300,000 jobs could be created in France by 2020 in the Silver Economy sector.
Delvalle is also at the heart of a cluster (public hospital structures such as Pasteur 2, the Antoine Lacassagne Center, the Face and Neck Institute, and private entities) and higher education (Faculty of Medicine and Nursing School): the synergies are obvious, but even more so, it is the “hubris” of this neighborhood that will create a galaxy of health!
In fact, one could speak of a true ecosystem, and moreover, Nice is the first French city to join ECHA, a European e-network that brings together the 30 most important health ecosystems.
Not shy about this new advancement in the construction of tomorrow’s Nice, which is at the center of his strategy, Christian Estrosi did not hide his satisfaction: “By 2020, Delvalle will be the headquarters of connected health and the Silver Economy. This is a unique opportunity to develop a sector of excellence and to consolidate its international influence.”
The project required an investment of 2.5 million euros, of which 2 million euros were covered by the City of Nice.
