The Christmas Eve celebration tonight will take place in an exceptional situation. This Wednesday, December 23, the Regional Health Agency recorded no fewer than 919 new cases in the region. This marks an increase of more than 26 compared to the last ARS report.
During week 51 (from December 14 to 20), a total of 203,215 tests were conducted throughout the PACA region, with 51,286 in the Alpes-Maritimes. The positivity rate is slightly down compared to the previous week (week 50). In terms of figures, we are currently at 4.6% compared to 5.2% for the 50th week of the year. In the region, the incidence rates are at 186. They are rising in all departments, except for the Alpes-Maritimes (267), which is managing to maintain and even decrease.
Out of this impressive total, the Bouches-du-Rhรดne are the most affected with 360 cases, almost double the number in the Alpes-Maritimes (196) and Vaucluse (178), but nearly triple that of the Var, which has 100 cases. In terms of ICU admissions, we are around the same percentage as hospitalizations with 286 people, which is one more than yesterday.
The ICU bed occupancy rate is becoming very significant, reaching a total of 86.7% in the region. The Hautes-Alpes are faring the best with an occupancy of 54.2%, while the others range between 80% and 100%:
