Yesterday morning, Eugeniu, a 40-year-old activist, was tried before the criminal court of Nice for rebelling in front of the home of the Mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi. A ten-month suspended prison sentence was handed down to this father.
To recap, on Saturday, September 25, during a typical protest by anti-vaccine and anti-pass groups, a group movement headed towards Christian Estrosi’s home near Carnot Boulevard to make their voices heard.
The events, which occurred around 4 PM, involved a militant presenting himself as an individual attempting intimidation with violent behavior, despite occurring several hours after the protest had begun.
Ten months of a suspended sentence and a fine of 135 euros are the penalties he faces while awaiting the determination of the amount for damages owed to three police officers who were slightly injured.
“His behavior is inappropriate, that’s for sure,” stated Master Laurent Terrazzoni, defense lawyer, to the Nice-Matin newspaper. “My client is not the leader of the Yellow Vests, he is not the future Jérôme Rodriguez.”
