The Ladies of Lenval still going strong!

Latest News

They are only about ten women, but what a tornado! They are the Ladies of Lenval, the charitable association that supports the Lenval Foundation, a venerable and century-old institution in Nice, a key hub for children’s health in Nice and its region.

Their activity is a precious, even indispensable, support that helps fund the acquisition of medical equipment and numerous alternative therapeutic actions for children and adolescents.

And we’re not talking about peanuts… their funding represents 10% of the annual investment,” emphasizes Philippe Pradal, president of the Foundation who knows the numbers well.

These funds come from the gala that the Ladies organize every year before Christmas which has become, over the years, a must-attend event for local authorities, individuals, and businesses. The place to be, indeed!

Thanks to the many volunteer suppliers and service providers (who has the courage to refuse for such a noble cause?), the funds collected take the right path, that of purchasing medical devices or other therapeutic equipment.

For instance, the proceeds from the 2016 Gala amounted to 111,840 euros.

This year, the goal is to finance two projects: an ultrasound machine for the intensive care unit (estimated value 80,000 euros) and the funding of various therapeutic workshops to improve the daily lives of young patients.

The generous actions of the Ladies of Lenval have gained significant support from actress Michèle Laroque, “always in love with my hometown” – as she stated when accepting the role – who has agreed to be the patron of the 2017 Gala, the 22nd for the record.

Buoyed by her media support, the Ladies of Lenval have raised their ambitions and are aiming for a 2018 budget of 140,000 euros.

“We have our work cut out for us,” concluded President Christiane Scoffier, who hasn’t lost her smile!

Ladies, to your saddles!
