Starting July 11th, foreign nationals will no longer be able to access the walk-in counter at the Alpes-Maritimes prefecture without an appointment.
Renovation work is underway in the CADAM premises in Nice. This decision leads to changes in access for certain users. The walk-in reception point, reserved for foreign nationals at the Alpes-Maritimes prefecture, will close its doors starting Friday, July 11th. This closure is due to the planned renovation work in the buildings of the Dรฉpartemental Administrative Center (CADAM), located on Boulevard du Mercantour in Nice.
During the entire duration of the work, only two categories of people will still be able to be received: those with a confirmed appointment and those summoned for the issuance of their residence permit. Other users will have to wait for the reopening to be received without an appointment.
The prefecture specifies that this measure only concerns the foreign nationals’ service. The other services of the prefecture remain accessible under the usual conditions.
For any questions or need for information, users can contact the interministerial communication office. The contact details are indicated in the statement issued this Friday, July 4th.
Prioritize online procedures
This closure of the walk-in counter may impact those who were accustomed to going there without prior formality. The prefecture does not, at this stage, provide a reopening date.
Affected users are therefore encouraged to turn to online procedures. It is recommended to check access conditions before any trip to the CADAM.
As a reminder, the foreign nationals’ service handles requests for residence permits, renewals, duplicates, and travel documents. Appointments are made via the prefecture’s website.
The announced works aim, according to the authorities, to improve reception conditions in the coming months. Until then, caution is required to avoid unnecessary trips.
