This Sunday morning, the seven candidates running in the 2026 municipal elections in Nice went to their respective polling stations to participate in the first round of voting.

The candidate Unis pour Nice, Juliette Chesnel-Le Roux, was expected at 9 o’clock at her polling station at Saint Pierre de Feric school. After speaking with the poll workers and the polling station chairman, the list leader cast her ballot in the ballot box: voted!

Outgoing mayor Christian Estrosi went to his polling station located at the Cimiez Arenas primary school. The mayor of Nice arrived at polling station No. 705, located at 2 avenue Monte Croce, in the Cimiez district, accompanied by his partner, Laura Tenoudji. At 9:57 a.m., Christian Estrosi cast his ballot in the ballot box. After voting, the candidate for re-election took the time to greet and shake hands with people present at the polling station.

At 10:30 a.m., the candidate for mayor of Nice Mireille Damiano presented herself at the Ray – Gorbella primary school, located on boulevard Gorbella in the north of the city. Coming with family, the candidate took time to greet the poll workers and several voters present at the polling station before fulfilling her civic duty.
By her side was notably her granddaughter. At 17 years old, the young woman expressed regret at not being able to participate in the vote this year. A family moment that accompanied this symbolic passage to the ballot box for the candidate. After casting her ballot in the ballot box, Mireille Damiano briefly exchanged with some residents of the district before leaving.

A little later in the morning, at 11:30 a.m., the Member of Parliament for Alpes-Maritimes and candidate for mayor of Nice Éric Ciotti went to Jean Moulin primary school, rue des Potiers, to fulfill his civic duty. Upon his arrival, the candidate was surrounded by several members of his campaign team and accompanied by his daughter. The scene unfolded in a noticeably more media-intensive atmosphere. Under the eyes of the media, Éric Ciotti greeted the voters present as well as the poll workers at the polling station before collecting the ballots and heading to the voting booth.
Before leaving, the candidate took time to visit the various polling stations set up in the establishment in order to greet the poll workers and teams mobilized for organizing the election. He then briefly exchanged with several residents and journalists present on site.

Cédric Vella Reconquête, Estelle Jaquet, Lutte Ouvrière and Céline Forjonnel for Nice Direct Democracy, also fulfilled their civic duty at their respective polling stations.
