Thanks to Watch Party Radar, an interactive map created by Dashmote, residents of the French Riviera, tourists and expatriates can now easily locate bars and spaces broadcasting World Cup matches and identify the teams supported.

Watch Party Radar is a platform developed by Dashmote that lists in real-time all venues broadcasting World Cup matches. Through an interactive map, users can easily locate bars, restaurants or spaces organizing watch parties, as well as find out which team is supported in each establishment. A practical tool for residents of the French Riviera, tourists and French people abroad who want to find the ideal place to follow the matches. We were able to interview Stefan Tan, a co-founder, about this project for supporters.

A tool more comprehensive than a simple search

Stefan Tan, originally Dutch, is one of the founders of Dashmote, a company that works with several major brands such as Coca-Cola, Heineken, Redbull… to help them better understand their audience and assess markets.

With his brother, he decided to create Watch Party Radar a few weeks before the World Cup. He explains: “I live in New York and sometimes it’s difficult to know which bar broadcasts a match and supports a team.”

Watching the World Cup is really fun if you do it with your friends and, preferably, with other people rather than alone. It’s not just about watching the match, it’s about experiencing it together […] It’s a matter of atmosphere. If you win, it’s even more festive, and if you lose, at least you cry together.

The application makes it possible to filter each person’s preferences (large screen, sound presence, small bars) and identify establishments offering special offers or dedicated menus.

Finding the right place can quickly become a nightmare. Stefan Tan explains that their tool goes far beyond standard mapping: “All bars organizing viewing parties are on Google Maps, but they don’t promote it on this platform. That’s why our technologies analyze daily not only Google Maps links, but also bars’ websites and their social networks like Instagram and Facebook.

This data cross-referencing, boosted by artificial intelligence and enriched by the community, makes it possible to refresh the map every day.

A free model, community-focused

For now, Watch Party Radar remains entirely free. “Our intention is to keep it free for users and remain community-focused,” the co-founder says. The company instead uses this data to advise major brands and optimize their marketing around the most popular bars.

On the restaurateurs’ side, the reception is excellent: “They appreciate that people find their establishment. It’s a good way to attract different customers. Tourists are particularly delighted, as they’re looking for places to gather with supporters from their own country.

A global success

The numbers speak for themselves: the application has already recorded approximately 100,000 visits across the globe. Among surprising trends, the team noted a huge surge in searches in Canada (particularly in Toronto), France, as well as in American cities like Denver.

This buzz is also felt internally within their international team, which must deal with time zones. “The other day, the Netherlands match was at 3 a.m. We told the team that those who wanted to watch it could start later in the morning,” Stefan Tan says with amusement. This actually inspired a feature to find out which bars stay open after midnight.

What about after the World Cup?

The World Cup will not be the final whistle for Watch Party Radar. Faced with the enthusiasm, the creators are already looking further ahead.

More and more people want to watch sports live together. We will update our model and will consider including the Olympics or other major sporting events in the future.

The team even plans to add new practical criteria requested by users, such as the presence of easily accessible restrooms. Proof that Watch Party Radar intends to remain the essential companion for all upcoming major sporting celebrations.

This initiative confirms a trend clearly visible on the French Riviera: the need to experience things together. Whether you’re a nostalgic expatriate, a tourist passing through the Promenade des Anglais or a true resident of the French Riviera, sport remains the shortest path to creating connections. By mapping this buzz, the tool reminds us that Nice is a deeply cosmopolitan city. It remains to be seen whether Nice’s terraces will set new decibel records at the next major events.
