National Day of Commemoration of the Abolition of Slavery in Nice

Latest News

At the initiative of Christian Estrosi, Minister in charge of Industry, Mayor of Nice, President of Nice Côte d’Azur, and driven by Maty Diouf, Municipal Councilor Delegate for Civil Status, Sub-delegate for Integration and the Fight against Discrimination, the city of Nice is organizing six days of celebration for this national day under the theme “Living Better Together.”

Affirming its duty to remember and attachment to the fundamental principles of the Republic, which are Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity, the city of Nice wishes to pay tribute to all those who were victims of slavery until its abolition in France in 1848.

In a friendly atmosphere, where the words exchange and fraternity find their full meaning, several events will take place in the form of concerts, conferences, exhibitions, films, and activities, highlighting the diversity and cultural contributions of everyone.
